Millennial Mindfulness & More…Attracting and Retaining the Next Generation
Our February presenter, Dr. Michelle Lopez left our members motivated and inspired. Prior to the meeting, she gave us a questionnaire that she used to focus on giving us tools to attract new members and retain current members. By doing so, the presentation completely suited our needs. It is no wonder that her services are sought out by clients that include entrepreneurs, executive leaders, non-profit organizations, institutions of higher education and more.
In 2016, after nearly twenty successful years in higher education, Dr. Michelle Lopez formed her own coaching and consulting company, Next Gen Latinos, LLC. She brought with her a wealth of experience, from the field of education, and as an avid servant leader for her community.
Dr. Lopez earned a B.S. in Government with a minor in Spanish from Texas Woman’s University, an M.Ed. in counseling and Guidance with an emphasis in College Student Affairs from Texas State University and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University. A native Texan, formerly from Fort Worth, Michelle and her family reside in Central Texas.
We thank her for giving us tools to engage members more fully and tools to strengthen our chapter.

Anael Luebanos
Fort Worth ISD Board Secretary Trustee, District 8
Understanding the FWISD Tax Increase
Born in Fort Worth, Anael moved to Mexico as a child where he was reared on the family farm. Wanting more opportunities for him, his family sent him on a bus to Fort Worth at the age of 15 to live with relatives.
Speaking little English, Anael's self determination led him to graduate from Paschal High School with honors. He credits his success to patient teachers and to his constant companion, the Spanish/English dictionary. During his educational years, he supported himself by working at a local grocery soon becoming a manager.
Anael received a Bachelor's degree and his MBA from Texas Wesleyan University. He currently works as an accountant for a non-profit that serves the blind community and volunteers for many organizations. He was elected to the FWISD Board of Education in 2017 representing District 8.
At our November meeting, Mr. Luebanos not only explained the tax increase, but also fielded many questions about the enormous challenges of reaching all students of various programs during the pandemic.
